Karina Benitez was born and raised in South Florida. She has won multiple awards from Scholastic's Art and Writing Awards for poetry and visual art, and attended the national ceremony in Carnegie Hall. Karina earned an art scholarship to North Broward Preparatory School (NBPS), where she completed her high school education. She was an active part of the National Art Honors Society, and designed multiple holiday cards for the school.
Her art was published in Celebrating Art Spring 2020, a selective national art publication for skilled high school artists. Karina attended the University of Florida for a year after graduating from NBPS. Wanting to attend school closer to her loved ones, she is currently studying visual art at Florida Atlantic University. Karina lives in Coral Springs with her family and her dog Dunkin.

In a vigorous 5 days mission, students will generate and create a menagerie of wondrous characters. Whether these be completely original beasts or unique versions of exiting beings. Students will learn to build amine cartooning creations based on a weekly theme. Pencil, markers and liner pens will allow for finished products in an atmosphere where skills can be at any level and lively fun conversation about the anime / cartooning world thrives.
