Janie Reisler is a new resident to South Florida coming from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She is a working artist, graphic and fashion designer, graduate art historian and educator and has been teaching many art styles for over 35 years. These styles include classical life drawing, 3D design, fashion illustration, drawing from the live model, decorative painting, collage, recycled/upcycled art, graffiti and mural art and currently the trending, MIXED MEDIA/ STREET ART STYLE. She has taught students from elementary school age all the way through to seniors. She is thrilled to bring her passion and expertise to the Boca Raton Museum of Art School and hopes to bring new and innovative courses and seminars to our wonderful art community.

Intro to Collage & Mixed Media
Location & Summary
Art School: Studio A
This class is for the experienced artist and those who have taken our INTRO LEVEL sessions. We will be experimenting with a variety of art materials, including combining photo imagery with textures of paint, and layering techniques. Many media and processes will be used to include water-soluble pencils, pastels and acrylic paints, gels and mediums, collage layering of textured papers from vintage magazines and books. We will cover photo transfers and printing.

Mixed Media Master Class
Location & Summary
Art School: Studio A
This course will teach you the integration of painting, handmade surfaces, found objects, digital prints, and photographs to create multiple layers of visual meaning in a unique piece of art. We will create an autobiographical work, using life storytelling, and visual narratives. Students will develop their creative ideas in a variety of compositions combining materials like digital prints, art papers made with gelli prints, fabrics, photos, and paint.
