Instructor, Harold Rabinowitz

Specializes In:

Jewelry Design & Silversmithing

Harold Rabinowitz developed his interest in metalwork when, at the age of 16, he took a course in jewelry-making. Five years later he began what was to become a 20-year course of study at the Tobe Pashcher Workshop of the Jewish Museum in Manhattan. There he focused his metalworking on the creation of ceremonial objects, studying under Ludwig Wolpert and Moshe Zabari, master designers and craftsmen with international reputations. Mr. Rabinowitz was asked to become a fellow of the workshop, thus joining the ranks of a very small and constantly dwindling group of artists who produce Jewish religious artifacts. He still spends time creating ritual objects for synagogues, museums and individuals and has enjoyed a lifetime of teaching all ages and skill levels.
