Elizabeth Vitale is a Textile and Fiber Artist and a retired Art Educator. Elizabeth’s training in art began at the State University of West Georgia and then she continued her studies at Tyler School of Art receiving an MFA in Fiber Art.
I began creating hand-embroidered tapestries as a teenager in high school. At about the same time, I began practicing Yoga and the two processes have been a constant throughout my life. The practice of Yoga helped me to go within and get in touch with my life purpose.
Elizabeth spent 30 years as an educator for the Broward County School District. She taught, drawing, painting, design and textile art to students from middle school to college level. The majority of her teaching career was at Nova High School working with students who were interested in creating portfolios for the College Board Advanced Placement program.
Elizabeth’s resides in Delray Beach, Florida focusing on her own creations. Her work is primarily abstract with a focus on layers of color, free form shape and transparency. She works with of a variety of mediums such as, paint, thread, paper and a water soluble fiber.

Students will learn the techniques of Needle Felting, a textile material that is produced by pressing wool fibers together, while creating two-dimensional works such as landscapes and portraits. Simple embroidery stitches will be incorporated to embellish the two dimensional creations. The class will transition to needle felting three-dimensional realistic or imaginative animal creations.
