I started with mud pies as a child, working in clay with Girl Scouts and attending New Jersey public schools with wonderful art programs. Undergraduate and graduate degrees in teaching art (ceramic concentrations) from Montclair University and Florida Atlantic University, (as well as a passion for teaching) led to a career teaching art to students from age 4 to 99.
Upon retiring I have discovered I am a lifelong student, attending clay based workshops online and in person. Arrowmont, Haystack, Anderson Ranch and Penland School of Crafts (where I spent 2 years in clay and glass workshops, not to mention a cold winter residency) are a few of the art and craft schools where I continue to pursue my ceramic education. Locally, I am active on the board of The Ceramic League of the Palm Beaches (currently VP),and an alumni and active member of the Florida Atlantic Potters Guild. I maintain a local home studio in Parkland, Florida... as well as a summer studio in Canada. When I’m not teaching classes you can find me in my studio.
I still love the process but really enjoy teaching students how to manipulate their clay. Some potters just make pots... I love teaching pottery. Join me in learning more about how to manipulate an ancient material and make an original piece of your own.
